The University of Miami Frost School of Music is accepting applications for a Full-Time (Open Rank) Professor of Classical Artist Development and Creative Entrepreneurship position beginning with the 2022-23 academic year. We are seeking a visionary leader with a strong record of accomplishment as an artist/entrepreneur, rooted in an instrumental classical tradition, with robust multi-genre skills. The successful candidate will bring an innovative and interdisciplinary perspective to chamber music, including in areas such as composition, concert production, recording, video production, marketing, and promotion.


The ideal candidate will have national and international prominence as an instrumental performer with strong experience in both classical and non-traditional genres; provide strong leadership and vision of excellence in the field of chamber music performance; demonstrated experience and track record as a creative entrepreneur in music business; experience in classical concert production and a record of accomplishment in the curation of multidisciplinary performance projects is highly desirable. A terminal degree or equivalent in music performance or equivalent related field required. We are particularly interested in candidates who bring diverse perspectives to academia.


Responsibilities include serving as Artistic Director of the Frost Chamber Music Series, and teaching courses in chamber music. Additional responsibilities may also include teaching courses in relevant areas of expertise, including entrepreneurship, concert production, composition, multi-genre performance, and audio and/or video production.


Appointment: To be negotiated; rank and salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The University of Miami is a private, independent, comprehensive university with an enrollment of approximately 15,650 students from all fifty states and over 114 countries. The main campus is located in Coral Gables, a residential suburb of Miami.


The Frost School of Music has an enrollment of approximately 750 majors in 31 programs leading toward B.A., B.M., B.S., M.M., M.A., M.S., D.M.A., and Ph.D. degrees. These programs are served by approximately 71 full-time and 45 part-time faculty members, and over 130 graduate teaching assistants.
