Why Can't I leave Him/Her alone. Part 2 (454 hits)

I've been speaking with friends about this topic and have received new and interesting answers to the question. I have heard things from I don't want his family to think I abandoned him at a bad time to we are in a lease together. The person who doesn't want to be seen in a bad light has to realize that when a relationship ends the other person's family will view them in whatever way the other person presents the breakup. In some cases, extreme cases, the families are glad its finally over no harm no foul. When a relationship ends both parties tend to go out and tell their side of the story. This is where the problem comes in. When two people change their relationship to none at all, those reasons only need to be of their knowledge. The reality is we all need a confidant, one person we can spill our hearts out to. This person must be selected wisely. If you know that this person can't hold water in a cup on a table with out spilling it, they are not the person to talk to. There is no point to expect your private business to remain private. Each person must realize no matter what, when we break up he/she will probably tell someone in their family his/her side of what happened. With that being said how the family ultimately views the dumper will depend on how bad the dumped person feels. So to stay in the relationship to look good to other people, but be unhappy to yourself makes no since. The other person said, we have a new lease together and I don't want to ruin my credit. Now that sounds like a valid reason when living in a one bedroom apartment. You certainly can't be roommates, share a bed and date other people. However, in this case the other person barely has their share of the rent anyways so getting evicted is just as bad as breaking the lease. The best thing about breaking the lease is you can sublet the apartment and go your separate ways. Why wait until you are evicted with a few days to find somewhere to go before it is on your rental history. So it sounds valid to stay, but its really time to leave. So the question continues, why can't i leave him/her alone? Answer: I am still afraid to make the changes necessary in my life to be happy. If you keep making excuses you will never make changes.
